How to Make the Most of a Park City Winter
December 11, 2019
Utah has become one of the top international destinations for enjoying everything Winter has to offer, and Park City is at the very heart of it all. It’s easy to see why. From the great outdoors to the charming streets of the historic district, Park City has something for locals and visitors alike.
Enjoy Nature
Outdoor enthusiasts from around the world flock to Park City during the winter months. The area includes some of the nation’s best ski and snowboarding with more than 330 trails and 7,300 skiable acres just minutes from Shoreline.
Not a fan of skiing or snowboarding? That’s no excuse to miss out on the “Greatest Snow on Earth!” A number of other options are available in the area, including tubing, snowshoeing, ice skating and even dog sledding. Every member of the family will find something to keep them busy. While you’re at it, why not take a tour of the Utah Olympic Park, home to five events during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games?
Stroll Historic Downtown
Park City features the charm of a small town with extraordinary entertainment options. The historic district is home to more than 20 art galleries from a wide range of disciplines. Be sure to head downtown for the Last Friday Gallery Stroll, a monthly community event where Park City’s vibrant art scene opens its doors to welcome in the public with appetizers, special exhibits and installations.
Whenever the weather gets bad, the Egyptian Theater Company comes to the rescue. Home to live theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more, this landmark is always a great excuse to get out of the cold.
Days out on the slopes can work up an appetite. Luckily, downtown has something for everyone! From charming cafes and sandwich shops to Michelin starred restaurants, options for delicious meals are virtually endless. If you’re not ready for the fun to end, there’s always the option to meet up with friends for happy hour at a secret speakeasy or grab an after-dinner cocktail at a piano bar.
Join in the Festivities
Each Winter, more than 120,000 film buffs from around the world flock to Park City for the week-long Sundance Film Festival. No longer just focused on cutting edge films, festival entertainment ranges from filmmaker conversations to panel discussions and live music events.
World-class athletes call the city home, including the US Freestyle Ski Team. February 2020 marks the 20th year Park City will host the Intermountain Healthcare Freestyle International FIS World Cup, bringing to town some of the best mogul, aerial, and dual mogul skiers from across the globe.
Thankfully, Shoreline homes are located at the center of everything Park City has to offer. Reach out to a representative to learn why this award-winning community is right for you.
