Park City Art Gallery Stroll
May 1, 2024
There’s nothing quite like a Park City art gallery stroll. The northern Utah oasis isn’t just known for its ski slopes, you know — it’s also a major hub for visual art. Whether you’re window shopping, actually shopping, or just need a quiet afternoon, start with these four local art galleries.
Summit Gallery (825 Main St.)
Billing themselves as “the friendliest gallery on Main Street,” Summit Gallery is a great starting point. Here you’ll enjoy a bold, broad range of contemporary and traditional pieces — everything from oil paintings to glass works to bronze sculptures. We love this gallery’s busy yet inviting layout, where eye-catching art is everywhere you turn. Buyers, take note: They also provide complimentary in-home consultations and installation, as well as white glove shipping and museum-quality framing.
Montgomery-Lee Fine Art (608 Main St.)
If you like impressionist and realist painting and sculpture, we think you’ll enjoy Montgomery-Lee Fine Art. Museum-quality work, often of local subject matter, are displayed here, from a mix of established and up-and-coming artists. In particular, their bronze collection includes some of America’s most award-winning sculptors. The space also specializes in custom portraiture. Over nearly three decades, its owners have built strong ties with artists and collectors alike.
Gallery MAR (436 Main St.)
Fresh, bold, and lively, the modern art and atmosphere at Gallery MAR really sticks with you. Though the art here runs the spectrum of styles and mediums, their throughline is a connection to the natural world. Gallery MAR is constantly changing the pieces on display, so it’s a great place for repeat visits.
Meyer Gallery (305 Main St.)
A Park City institution, the family-run Meyer Gallery has been welcoming locals and out-of-towners since 1965. The setting is beautiful — it’s housed in the former First National Bank of Utah building (on the National Register of Historic Places). And its collection focuses on premier
contemporary artists who live in the intermountain west. You’ll love the peaceful atmosphere and serene artwork here.
