View of Park City Utah and Jordanelle Reservoir

From solo adventures, couple retreats to family experiences, the nearby Park City area has plenty to explore and wander. Here are just five spots to check out this summer:

Jordanelle State Park

Drive: 10 minutes

No stranger to the residents and visitors of Shoreline as the reservoir is in Jordanelle State Park – one of the state’s most popular state parks – and is conveniently located in our backyard. It is a sought-after spot for recreational opportunities, such as hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, and other watersports.

Bloods Lake

Drive: 40 minutes

Enjoy an easy hike through pine trees and wildflowers before taking a dip in Bloods Lake. The one-mile hike to the lake is perfect for families with small kids and is dog-friendly. There is much to enjoy along the way. One of the fun aspects of reaching the lake is using the rope swing! You can also hang hammocks and set up a blanket around the lake for a perfect day at the lake.

Hidden Falls

Drive: 44 minutes

This quick and easy hike has a huge payoff! Though not dog friendly, this hike is family-friendly that won’t eat up your day. Though the falls are accessible during any time of the year, it’s perfect for visiting after a day or two of rain.

Provo River Falls

Drive: 46 minutes

Surround by tall fir forest and mountain peaks, Provo River Falls is a perfect oasis for those warm summer days. Many take a dip in the water and explore the three ways you can take in the views of the falls; overlook, upper falls, and lower falls. Plenty of wildlife is within the area, so keep your eyes open!

Mirror Lake

Drive: 60 minutes

Along Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, your hour’s drive to Mirror Lake will be anything but dull, with countless pull-offs and additional hiking trails to explore. Known for its flawless reflecting waters, Mirror Lake has hiking and bike trails and the optimal water playground for you to swim, fish, and kayak. This spot is dog- and kid-friendly – a premier spot for a day out with the family.
